Bremerton, WA for Golf at Gold Mountain

Gold Mountain is an absolute sleeping giant in Northwest golf -highly acclaimed, but somehow still under the radar. Dramatically sculpted into the Washington splendor, the Olympic Course has garnered impressive awards and has taken its place as one of America’s finest public courses. The USGA and NCAA agree, as they stage championships at the Olympic frequently — this is where Jordan Spieth met his caddie Michael Greller.

If you have the time, play 36….with the long days of Seattle summer, you can play two leisurely rounds and not feel rushed. The Cascade Course provides a small reprieve after a round at the Olympic, but a challenge will still be found – have no doubt. The course screams Pacific Northwest as there are seemingly as many trees as there are blades of grass throughout the routing.

The back nine of the Cascade features more elevation changes than the front with the climax coming at the larger than life 609 yard par five 15th hole that tumbles down over 100 feet from tee to green. Certainly a hole to remember!

Getting to this course from Seattle can be half the fun. Hop on a ferry from downtown and take a wonderful 45 minute ride through the Sound and end up in Bremerton. If your game cooperates at all this can be a very serene and enjoyable day of golf. To top it all off, this is one of the best bargains around, tee times range from $45-$90.
