We were fortunate to get to take the kids to Glacier National Park this summer. Due to forest fires, most of the Park was closed, but we still had a great time in the Many Glacier and East Glacier areas. So, due to the restrictions we faced, here’s our abridged guide to Glacier National Park.
It’s amazing how different Glacier National Park is from Yellowstone National Park. The sights are, of course, different, but so are the people it attracts, the mood of the Park and the experiences the Park offers. We were limited in what we could access, so our Glacier Guide is limited, but know that we will return to the Park as soon as we’re able. We did make the most of our time and walked away with some great stories.
And so starts our four part series on Glacier:
Forest Fires – the story of how we started our Glacier vacation and not losing hope when it seems like you’re going to have to go home.
Hiking with Kids – a recap of our favorite hikes in the Many Glacier area…that can be done with young kids. **these are just the most kid-friendly, not all hikes.
Many Glacier – the sights and wildlife of the Many Glacier area, including how best to observe wildlife.
Boat Tours – a surprise and delight to find in Glacier National Park.
