Las Vegas, NV, United States for Flamingo Wildlife Habitat

If there is one thing I never expected to run in to out in the middle of the desert, it was a wildlife reserve. Located inside the Flamingo’s 15-acre grounds, is a habitat stocked with exotic birds, fish and turtles. Located only steps from the strip is a winding walkway that provides a few minutes of peace and quiet to take in some “nature”. I say that with a heavy dose of sarcasm because there is mixture of species from Africa, Asia and South America. Only in Vegas can you find a place where it only seams normal to have a reserve of exotic animals. There is a walkway that winds through the entire place lined with benches to sit and stare at streams filled with koi where miniature waterfalls will drain out all other sounds. It really is the closest thing to a nature walk you can get without having to trek away from the strip.
