Quite an adventure! Started the day at Whitakers Bunkhouse which is nothing special but cheap, and close to the training. After a day of learning ice axe arrest, we then started to the half way point at Camp Muir. Stayed in another bunkhouse and woke up at midnite to start! Despite howling winds, we made it to spot #1 — the “Cleaver”. Had a rest, some other people in our camp turned back. Crossed over a few large crevasses. As the sign came up, the light was incredible. It was a tough one, but we summited at about 6 am and turned down. Long day, but a good one.
