Last week, I am made a quick stop in New York City to visit my daughter, while on my way to Boston. As always, I had a great stop over in the Big Apple.
I arrived on a Friday evening to JFK at 7:30pm, took a taxi to the Royalton, and arrived on time at 9:00pm for my dinner at Koi with my daugther.
When I am looking for a great pan-Asian dinner in NYC, I head to Koi, which located in Midtown at W 40th on Bryant Park. Koi has a great atmosphere, great service and outstanding cuisine. Order family style, and try everything on the menu. Koi is highly recommended.
After a relaxing Saturday morning run in Central Park (which everyone should do) I met up with my daughter for real Saturday morning brunch at The Cupping Room in Soho for a relaxed Cappacino and a unbelievable Eggs Benedict with Avocado. The Cupping Room is located in 359 West Broadway in Soho. This is a spot for locals….and perfect way to start a day or weekend.
Following a relaxed afternoon walking around Soho and Tribeca, I dropped into the hottest bar in NYC, the Southwest Bar (outdoor) right on Bryant Park. This is an amazing outdoor bar in the heart of the city. Highly recommended.
If you are looking for a great place to have a long lunch, I would recommend Maison Kayser.
Bryant Park has lots of tables and free wi-fi for everyone in the park. In addition, the Bryant Park bathrooms are first class, and modeled after 5 star hotels.
